Welcome to Bigfoot based in Brighton!
I have been Bigfoot Chieftain for East and West Sussex since 2004. Prior to this I taught secondary drama for 5 years. I have also moderated for Arts Award and Artsmark and I am also an assessor tor the Learning Outside The Classroom Quality Badge. I have delivered INSET for many schools using drama to support and enrich the curriculum. In the spring term 2012 I deliverd a keynote address at the West Sussex Head teachers conference and workshops at the East Sussex PSHE conference. I am also a member of the Mantle of the Expert national team of trainers.
Since 2004 we have delivered programmes across the region, with thousands of children benefitting from their Bigfoot expereinces. Popular programmes in Sussex in particular have been supply and PPA cover, INSET for staff, 'Big Rights...Big Responsibility' drama programme, 'Mantle of the Expert' programmes and tailor-made bespoke days. In addition to our in-school provision, we also continue to offer after school and holiday activities.
I have an excellent group of talented Bigfoot staff who, like me, simply love what they do. Children love what we offer at Bigfoot and this motivates everyone here to deliver the best quality drama provision. We have developed our work greatly over the years, with much of our work now foccusing on pupil initiated learning, co-construction and collaboration through dramatic activity.
Persuing my Masters in Education Studies has contriburted greatly to my understanding of and belief in the power of creative approaches to the curriculum. The Bigfoot programmes are a fantastic way of giving children ownership of their work, offering excellent teacher CPD, and providing the school with a memorable learning expereince.
I would be delighted to pop in and have a chat, providing your schoool with a new creative contact.
