Janet Aughey is the Chieftain for the county of Hampshire and the Isle of Wight. As well as representing Bigfoot, Janet is also Director of Magic Parsnips Ltd, facilitators of creativity in the arts and education sectors. Janet has worked within education and the arts for a number of years. She was a deputy head in secondary schools before joining Creative Partnerships ( a government funded organisation until July 2011) as a profession development coordinator then as a Creative Agent setting up projects in schools.
Her passion for creativity stems from preparing people for the here and now, as well as for what the future holds, encouraging risk taking, collaboration, and celebrating people’s adaptability and achievement. Her belief that creativity can bring enjoyment and innovative approaches to both education and working lives, allowing people to push themselves into thinking in new and exciting ways, providing creative solutions to problems, runs throughout all her work.
Janet’s work with the Creative Partnerships’ programme for several years has brought together teachers and creative practitioners to develop exciting projects where children, teachers and artists work and learn collaboratively.
Janet is extremely excited about delivering Bigfoot’s wide range of creative education programmes within Hampshire and the Isle of Wight and continuing to develop close working relationships with schools.
The Bigfooter was excellent. She was friendly, flexible and fantastic with the children. She pitched the whole session at the perfect level and kept every child engaged throughout the whole session. I cannot speak highly enough of her skills and enthusiasm. We'd deifinetly recommend and use Bigfoot again! - Anna Bodin, Marnel Infant School
