The Story of Bigfoot and the Story Tree

The Bigfoot people did exist, and they are still here today!

As you can see by our website, there is a picture of a huge tree. This is the Story Tree, and it belonged to the Bigfoot people.

The Bigfoot people existed thousands of years ago when the world was one large land mass called Pangaea. They were taller than a classroom door and had feet twice the size of an extra sized ruler, and they had big brains. But unlike us, they used all of theirs! They were extremely creative, they loved to sing, dance, play music and paint, but most of all they loved to sit around the camp fire and tell themselves magical stories.

By the campfire sat a tree, and with each story they told a very curious thing would happen. A new leaf would grow on the tree. So the tree became known as The Story Tree, and it became the Bigfoot People's pride and joy.

Thousands of leaves later, when the Story Tree became bigger than Big Ben, the Bigfoot people ran out of stories to tell! The Bigfoot Chieftain's agreed that all the Bigfoot elders over the age of 500 years should use their big feet to travel the word, to meet new tribes, new cultures and to have amazing adventures, then to return so they could tell magical stories for all to hear.

Many years later the Bigfoot elders returned, and to celebrate their arrival they put on the 'Festival of the Imagination' and invited people from miles around. Humans came too! It was incredible. The Story Tree had never been so happy!

At a sad time in forgotten history the continents split, and the Story Tree was lost, and all of the Bigfoot tribes became extinct. The Bigfoot people became folklore and myth, and over time they were forgotten. Every now and then however, in the forests and mountain areas, someone spots a large ape like creature, and the legend once more becomes real.

Bigfoot Arts Education have a story of our own, its a true story, and it is why Bigfoot Arts Education exists! Its about a chance meeting between the last Bigfoot and a small boy he befriends to help find the lost STORY TREE,  and when they find it, a very magical and wonderful thing will happen to us all!

Watch out for the forthcoming book 'The Last Bigfoot' aimed at KS2.
