Jessica Joy
I have had a love of the theatre and acting for many years and was involved in Am Dram from an early age. I worked as ASM for the Channel Theatre Company during one long summer in the 80’s and put myself through drama school studying part-time in the evenings. I auditioned at Mountview Theatre School and was accepted on their Post Grad course but couldn't get any funding - so I quit my day job and travelled the world instead.
I appeared in a pop video for “The Crazy Gods of Endless Noise” (BBC2 Top of the Pops) and role played for staff training videos in the NHS. I wrote, directed and performed a play for the Greenwich Arts Festival and wrote a children’s play which is in a box in the loft. I helped out with the Deal Youth Theatre for several years.
These days I spend time with my beautiful family and my creative outlet is through writing, and an occasional blog.
Many of my jobs have been in customer service type roles, in central and local government, and the NHS so I have extensive experience of talking on the phone. Working on the Telesales team has got me out of my comfort zone, honed my improvisation skills and reminded me how important it is to smile, even on the phone!
