Ceri Young
Ceri started life as a secondary drama teacher before training as a professional actor. She has worked in theatre and film for a number of years and particularly loves working as an actor-musician, touring the country and seeing new places. Ceri has her own company that specialises in performing European plays in English across Europe, including creating work with young adults from across the continent.
Ceri has worked for Bigfoot since 2010 and has delivered many programmes including PSHE, literacy and more Buzz days than she can remember! She believes strongly in the value of drama as one of the most effective ways to learn, and loves working with Bigfoot to enable this to happen. One of her favourite Bigfoot moments was when a year 2 child, learning about the 1950s exclaimed, “but this is so COOL ….”. Thrilled to be a Bigfoot advocate, Ceri loves the way Bigfoot programmes can open children’s eyes both outwards, to worlds they had never previously considered, and inwards to their own potential and unique creativity.
Being a Bigfoot advocate reinforces my belief that what we do is so essential to ensure that children get an all-rounded education.
