The Story Tree Stories are Bigfoot’s collection of exciting, interactive early years programmes for foundation stage children. Each programme consists of a thirty minute performance workshop, in which they will meet the Story tree tickler (Bigfooter in role) who looks after the tree and all its stories.

To celebrate book weeks across the UK, Bigfoot are proud to have on offer a wide range of literacy programmes to suit every topic, theme and school!
- NEW FOR 2014: Shakespeare ain't that bard! Join Sir Bardwell for this 45 minute interactive assembly as he works with your students to battle with contemporary hip hop beats and modern day interpretations of Shakespearean text in order to stage some of the Bard’s work in a refreshingly exciting new way!
- Rapspeare: Discover how to connect with Elizabethan language by smashing apart the iambic pentameter and learning to articulate Shakespeare in a fresh and exciting new way.
- The Big Read: Ann Author needs help with her story;she needs excitement and structure - will yoir students be able to do it…..?!
- Come an See Anansi: When Anansi is brought to life and drops into your school, be prepared for a lively story adventure!
- Jacks Amazing Adventure: Students will be encouraged to develop their use of descriptive language to create characters, settings, plot ideas and alternative endings to help Jack and the Ice Witch's adventures.
- Charlie the Time Traveller: Join Charlie as he travels across centuries to discover how stories and books have evolved throughout time and meet William Shakespeare, Beatrix Potter, Hans Christian Anderson and Roald Dahl, along with others.
- Dickens, Gruel... and a whole lot more! Invite Bigfoot into your school and discover who Dickens was, what inspired him to write and why he became famous the world over!
Whether you are exploring Refugee Week, holding Multi Cultural celebrations in your school, or partaking in Black History Month events, one of our workshop programmes should help enrich your activities!
- Africa; My Story: Join Brother Africa as he touches on the trials and triumphs of humanity with African and Caribbean story, dance and song, and learn the secret techniques of how to become a storyteller yourself!
- Come an See Anansi: When Anansi is brought to life and drops into your school, be prepared for a lively story adventure!
- Carnival of Heroes: Watch ‘Spirit’ captivate the attention of all listeners with inspiring stories of times gone by stepping in and out of pivotal periods of Black history.
- The Journey of the Storyteller: Join Sam as she breathes new life into fairytales of old by embracing the influence of Indian, Chinese and African cultures so apparent in the Caribbean countries of Trinidad and Guyana today.
- Story of the Empire Windrush: Celebrate the story of the ship as it first docked at Tilbury in Essex, marking the foundations of multi-cultural Britain.
- Explore what the word ‘refugee’ means, how refugees positively contribute to our society, and how important it is to empathise with those who seek refuge in our country.
Preparing for and managing transition can often be a challenging experience: What might it be like? How will I make new friends? Will I be able to cope with the change? Join Bigfoot to explore and, above all, enjoy the transition creatively in an inclusive, safe, friendly and fun environment!
- Moving on Up: Providing a humorous insight into the various concerns associated with moving on, as well as a variety of strategies to cope with it, this play presents the perfect opportunity to celebrate new beginnings in a positive and enjoyable way.
- Big Steps: Participants are encouraged to take part in a variety of creative tasks, exercises and role-plays which explores the anxieties and worries they feel, as well as solutions to problems they may encounter, when changing schools.
With Bigfoot’s help, take a giant step inside your imagination to explore a variety of characters, locations and plots, and discover how you can be part of creating a unique piece of devised theatre…in just one day!

Bigfoot’s ‘promoting positive relationships’ programmes aim to stimulate KS1 and KS2 students into becoming more aware of their own behaviour patterns, as well as those of others, through focusing on scenarios and situations relevant to young people in primary schools today.

Bigfoot’s ‘Spotlight’ programme consists of a range of specialist skills workshops designed to give students and their teachers the opportunity to work with professional arts practitioners to explore various skills and theatrical techniques.

Secondary Enrichment Options
Bigfoot’s PSHE and Citizenship presentations and workshops allow young people to use their imagination when considering their own and other people’s experiences and to reflect on this process of participation. Forum theatre, role-play, improvisation and unique drama exercises are used as a vehicle for young people to develop their skills of enquiry and communication.
Schools can opt for one of the following PSHCE programmes or ask us to create a bespoke performance and/or workshop based on any chosen theme.
